I decided now that since my new ship was in full bloom and ready for the loving caress of the open seas that it was time to head back into the med.  As interesting as the trip was it was a bit dull without a single pirate captain showing there sails.  Sails!!!..... Thats what I was missing.  The sails on this ship were still plain in color.  I stopped off at one of my storage locations hidden of course, to check and see if anything was left.  With some luck I was able to find the right size of sails needed to place my own mark on them but there is still a few yards of canvas I need yet before I can clear of the drabness.  I decided since Genoa was still close by I would swing by and see if there was any silver to be had.  Unfortunetly it seemed that all the tight wads were tucked away in the safety of the guard protected homes.  The only one about with any money was a member of the merchant guild.  "Im going to have to play this one by ear" i thought to myself as I walked toward him.  I introduced myself as Marius of England, a very old alias that I had used in my days.  Thankfully he had never heard of me nor any of his cohorts near by.  Since I was in need of fast money I decided to do a few trade runs for the old man.  Who knows maybe I can somehow mark up the price on a few other things from here that i can take with me into Venice.  Along the west coast of italy I took a heading of due south and to my own luck but the misfortune of so many others I happened upon a wreckage drifter at sea.  The fires were still burning and the pirates black sails were disappearing into the distance.  As I have said before this was to my grand luck because amongst the silver and supplies that still floated on the oceans surface I was able to salvage several pieces of treasure map.  This should net me some wonderous fame and fortune upon finding that big beautiful X.

After arriving in Venice it was close to Carnival so I decided to hang about for awhile to see the sites and sample some of the wine women and song.  All free of course.  I suppose I shall take a break here for a few days to rest and resupply but I cant stay long for destiny awaites no one.
